PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Characteristics:

Four Municipalities in Koroška region: Mislinja,Muta, Podvelka and Radlje ob Dravi, prepared joint tender for deep energy renovation of seven (7) public buildings. Selected buildings are spread throughout the region and have a very important role in social life and public services for local population. On the map below you can see that Koroška region is located on remote area in northern part of Slovenia. The region is considered as under-developedcompared to central part of the country. Respective municipalities own all seven publicbuildings, which are health centers (2), cultural centers (2), municipal building, primary school gym and fire station.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS (REPLICATION POTENTIAL)

With local energy agency as facilitator, the municipalities prepared joint tender to find a private partner – an ESCO company, which will perform, and financing energy renovation of the buildings. After the successful tendering process, municipalities applied for national incentives call (Ministry of infrastructure of Slovenia), and received 40 % co financing. The investment costs of 1.331.925,88 EUR are in 60 % covered by private ESCO company and 40 % has been covered by National and EU founds
